Meet The Directors
Juilo MoralesJulio Morales serves as the Head Theatre Director at Manvel High School, marking his 14th year in education. He earned his BA in Drama from The University of St. Thomas-Houston and an Masters in Theatre Studies in Theatre Production and Design from Southern Oregon University. As the dedicated Thespian Troupe leader for Troupe #7075, he also holds the position of K-12 Past Chair for TxETA. Julio has received the K-12 Educator of the Year Award from TxETA in 2020 and the Golden Apple Award from Texas Thespians in 2024.

Brittney SchmidtBritney Schmidt is the Technical Director with the Manvel Theatre Company. Since graduating from the University of Houston in 2023 with degrees in Playwriting and Media Production, she has continued doing what she loves most: creating theatre that gives students a place to grow, collaborate, and have fun.
At Manvel, she has worked on productions including Puffs, The Little Mermaid, She Kills Monsters, Mean Girls, and various One Act Play Productions. Whether she is directing, building, designing, or backstage solving problems five minutes before curtain, Schmidt loves helping bring stories to life through creativity, teamwork, music, and a little bit of chaos. Her biggest goal is to make theatre a safe space where students feel supported, challenged, and excited to create. |
